Death Star Surface Diorama for the Master Replica Millennium Falcon

The second interesting piece is this awesome Death Star Surface diorama for the Master Replicas Studio Scale Millennium Falcon.

At $450, it’s a little pricey but an interesting and unique item.

It looks like it may have been made using the Death Star surface pieces that came with the special edition of the Sculpting a Galaxy book.

I must confess that i think that the surface and the model itself are a bit too close for comfort here.

Overall, i think that the original mirror surface to the model is better. If i had the money, i’d definately get this but i doubt if i’d use it. I can’t help thinking that as an ESB model that a diorama based on that movie would be better. (Perhaps an asteroid surface?)

About mffanrodders

A keen Star Wars collector since 1977, my collection focus seems to have taken on a turn towards Han Solo's iconic Star Ship. Why the Millennium Falcon? No one else seemed to have one at the time and it was fair to say that i had difficulty resisting the higher end models. My friend, icruise from Rebelscum has a superb blog for his Jabba the Hutt collection, I thought that i'd start this blog to chart my own collection of Millennium Falcon related collectibles as it increases.

Man, I gotta say that if this was executed better, I would be all over it. The fact of the matter is that it makes it look more like the Falcon is about to crash on the surface rather than save the day. If only they had found some way to extend the post that the ship sits on, this would be a real winner.

    Asteroid base coming very soon.

  3. Chase says:

I’d like to buy that base if you’re selling copies..
