At this years UK Toy Fair Jazwares showcased a new line in their Star Wars “Micro Galaxy Squadron”, a new line of toys that boasts to be the first authentically scaled vehicle line in Star Wars toy history.

I’m not sure why, but this is something that I’ve always wanted and my first impression is that this is a very promising new range of toys. The ships are broken down by size:
Assault Class — Millennium Falcon and similar sized vehicles
Starship Class — larger vehicles including Slave One and the Razor Crest
Transport Class — including the Troop Transport
Starfighter Class — X-wing, Jedi Starfighter, TIE Bomber etc
Light Armor Class — TIE Fighter, AT-ST and other similar modes of transport
Scout Class — Speeder Bikes and other single person small transport vehicles

At the moment, I have no ideas what these are made of, but a look at their X-Wing suggests perhaps an injection molded plastic. The detailing don’t look as good as you’d find on the X-Wing games miniature, but I’ll wait for in hand photos before i make my final judgement.
It also looks like the Millennium Falcon has a removable top and perhaps some internal view is available. I wonder whether this is some kind of playability and that perhaps it comes with some figures, or figures are available?

I’m delighted that the OT Falcon is here, but I’d pick up a ST or Solo version too. I also like the box which allows for display without removing. Release date and price points are still to come, but i’ll definitely pick up two of the Millennium Falcon.
Thanks to Jedi News for the article and photos and be sure to check out their web site.
23/05/2022: Jazwares finally revealed more on the line at this years Star Wars Celebrations event. RRP will be $45 and the Millennium Falcon will be approximately 12″ long and 9″ wide.

Nice to see that the line includes some tiny figures of Han, Leia, Chewie and Ben Kenobi. These are about an inch tall.

As a collector who rarely removes items from the box, packaging is quite important and I think Jazwares have done a fine job here as the box tells you everything you need to know.

The back of the packaging gives a lot of detail on the features of this toy, which includes landing gear, a removable top to show the inside, a 90 degree lift to the cockpit and sounds and motion activated lighting.

I think there’s a lot of playability here. Between the internal features, lighting, sound and figures this should be a wonderful toy for those young enough to play with them. I also like that they’ve got a few unusual craft in, such as Asajj Ventress’s ship. The fact that there are rare and super rare vehicles appeals to me as a collector.
They’re currently up for preorder on some sites, such as Amazon.com Hopefully these toys do very well. I’d like to see the Millennium Falcon as we see her in Solo, or perhaps a sequel trilogy version with some new play features.
Many thanks to Etain on the Rebelscum forums for the photos.
A few more photos from the Micro Galaxy Squadron Instagram page shows more play features including a decent photo of the inside, a working ramp and playable gun turrets.

Quite the toy.
hmm, “Assualt Class” typo ouch
besides, the X-Wing looks very underwhelming in detail, though just being a prototype perhaps
I’ll reserve judgement for the final product, but I’m quite excited.
Love these just ordered a Falcon! Hope they do a Landspeeder so we can get a Tatooine Luke, R2-D2 and C-3PO to complete the Falcon crew or some other way to get these essential micro figures! May grab an XWing just for R2 (plus want the X Wing too!). 🙂
Nice point about the figures, Darrell. I kinda hope the figures kinda become their own thing and that Jazwares releases packs of them, like the Action Fleet figures did. I also need to try and tracks down the Walmart sequel trilogy Falcon.
