Gentle Giant Millennium Falcon

Rebelscum have posted more coverage of this years San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) and I was very pleased to see that Gentle Giant have not one, but two Millennium Falcon prototype statues on display.

The first is the Original Trilogy version, although I can’t really tell if it’s the ANH or the ESB version from this angle. (I have tried looking for other photos, but to no avail.)

It looks nicely rendered and I’d guess that it’s maybe 14″ long. I wonder if the radar dish is interchangeable with a sequel trilogy version. Either way, this will be a definite addition to my collection.

The second is the Millennium Falcon as we see her in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Again, this looks well rendered and I hope that the escape pod will be detachable.

I’m really looking forward to seeing a painted prototype for both of these as they could be a good alternative to the EFX Falcon for those who missed out, or were unhappy with theirs. I for one am ecstatic about this as I’ve been hoping to add a Gentle giant item to my collection for some time. I expected a book end, but a statue is even better.

I will add to this page as I find out more information.

About mffanrodders

A keen Star Wars collector since 1977, my collection focus seems to have taken on a turn towards Han Solo's iconic Star Ship. Why the Millennium Falcon? No one else seemed to have one at the time and it was fair to say that i had difficulty resisting the higher end models. My friend, icruise from Rebelscum has a superb blog for his Jabba the Hutt collection, I thought that i'd start this blog to chart my own collection of Millennium Falcon related stuff as it increases. Well, that was the plan but it now seems to be more about cataloguing any Millennium Falcon item in general now so that i can come back to them later.
