Millennium Falcon USN challenge coin

whilst looking for Millennium Falcon collectibles related to coins, I found this rather interesting “coin” on eBay. It’s a United States Navy challenge coin from a Pacific fleet excessive, by the looks of it.

It’s a really nice piece. I’m not sure why they call it a coin as it’s about 5″ by 4″. It’s made from metal, so it has a really nice weight to it. As you can see from the photo above, it’s superbly detailed and someone’s clearly taken a lot of time to make this.

I did try to get some further information from the seller, but they weren’t able to give me anything of value. I’ll have to try and see what I can find out on the internet.

The seller still has two available here.

About mffanrodders

A keen Star Wars collector since 1977, my collection focus seems to have taken on a turn towards Han Solo's iconic Star Ship. Why the Millennium Falcon? No one else seemed to have one at the time and it was fair to say that i had difficulty resisting the higher end models. My friend, icruise from Rebelscum has a superb blog for his Jabba the Hutt collection, I thought that i'd start this blog to chart my own collection of Millennium Falcon related collectibles as it increases.

The coin is from Fleet Logistics Center Pearl Harbor. That is a Chiefs coin and is given as recognition for doing a great job. I have the Death Star one.
