Let The Wookie Win by Dave Nestler

ACME Archives have released a new print my Dave Nestler called “Let The Wookie Win“. It’s a scene depicting Chewie and Artoo’s Dejarik chess game from A New Hope and it’s very similar to Jim Ferguson’s work of the same name.

Let the Wookie WinThe Canvas version is 16″ by 21.5″ and is limited to an edition size of 95 pieces for a rather pricey $395. The paper version is a slightly smaller size of 12″ by 16″ and the edition size is 150 pieces but its a much more reasonable price of $89.

I must confess that i think the perspective on this piece is a little squiffy (yes, that’s a proper art term) and Han’s position is where the back of the couch should be. Looking a Dave’s website and his pin up work i can’t help thinking that this is a below par piece of work from him and would’ much preferred some nose art more akin to his Pin Up work.

If i do decide to pick one of these up, it’ll be on the ACME sale on the 22nd of May and it’ll be the paper version.

About mffanrodders

A keen Star Wars collector since 1977, my collection focus seems to have taken on a turn towards Han Solo's iconic Star Ship. Why the Millennium Falcon? No one else seemed to have one at the time and it was fair to say that i had difficulty resisting the higher end models. My friend, icruise from Rebelscum has a superb blog for his Jabba the Hutt collection, I thought that i'd start this blog to chart my own collection of Millennium Falcon related collectibles as it increases.
