The Droids Fly the Falcon by the Hilderbrant brothers

Back in 1996 Steve Perry’s “Shadows of the Empire” was released. It was set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi and was set in the seedy Criminal Edge of the Empire. Anyway, Lucasfilm made quite a big deal about the release of the book and there was a lot of merchandise released tying into the book. Part of the range of merchandise released was a set of trading cards by the Hilderbrandt brothers. This card features a scene in the book where the droids fly the Millennium Falcon to Prince Xizor’s skyhook to rescue Leia.

I must admit that i didn’t care for the book at all, but It’s a pretty cool painting of the Millennium Falcon’s cockpit (something i’d really love to see released in Sideshow’s 1/6 diorama range). I don’t have this card, so i’ll need to keep a look out and get one somewhere along the line.

I was always a little disappointed that there was never a release of the Millennium Falcon in the SOTE packaging. 😦

A long time Science Fiction fan and Star Wars collector, my collection focus has taken a turn towards Han Solo's iconic Star Ship and I thought that i'd start this blog to keep track of my collection of Millennium Falcon related stuff as i progress.
