Star Wars by Vlad Tixon

I did a search for Star Wars Art today on Etsy and came up with these rather nice Millennium Falcon pictures by a New York based artist by the name of Vlad Tixon. Nice work and definately one for the shopping list, but they’re all called Star Wars. Come on Vlad, they need a title. 🙂

About mffanrodders

A keen Star Wars collector since 1977, my collection focus seems to have taken on a turn towards Han Solo's iconic Star Ship. Why the Millennium Falcon? No one else seemed to have one at the time and it was fair to say that i had difficulty resisting the higher end models. My friend, icruise from Rebelscum has a superb blog for his Jabba the Hutt collection, I thought that i'd start this blog to chart my own collection of Millennium Falcon related stuff as it increases. Well, that was the plan but it now seems to be more about cataloguing any Millennium Falcon item in general now so that i can come back to them later.

Interesting images, but they seem to be more like Photoshop studies than actual artwork. The falcon is identical in each image.

Yeah, i sent him an email as to whether they were originals or prints. He replied pretty quickly.

“Hi, Rod. This Star War painting done by me. I create my artwork, transfer to canvas, apply some special layers, coat with lacquer, put into mat frame. You can see the real brush strokes and paint relief on the canvas surface. This process allows me to make about 10 pieces of each.”
