A few months ago i bought three Tommervik paintings done in the cubist style. Mike got one for his collection and theresa has the AT AT. I noticed today that Tommervik had released four more paintings based on the Millennium Falcon.
This one’s my favourite of the three as the anglular style makes it stand out from the others. (It is also reminisent of the escape craft in Hasbro’s BMF.)
I’m not too sure if i want to get these at the moment as i’m a little short of cash so it’s going to be a while before i make contact. I think i’ll try to negotiate a better price though. 🙂
23/01/12: Theresa let me know of two new Tommervik paintings based on the Millennium Falcon. I’m not too sure on these two and i think that it’s time for a rethink on how the Falcon’s painted. The first one is of a similar design to one above and of the two, this is the one i prefer.
The second offering is this Millennium Falcon Army Tank. I’d be very interested to know what the inspiration is for this one as i can’t work it out and on the face of it, it’s a hideous painting. 😦
I REALLY want to buy the third one!!! I actually sent the link to it, along with another of his pieces, to my husband last night. Not that we REALLY have room for them, but I figured there’s nothing wrong with buying some extra art and rotating through them. lol Or saving them for our future nerdy nursery when it’s time for that. =D
Yeah, the third one is pretty cool. Considerably different to the others, yet clearly still the Millennium Falcon.
IDK if this link will work, but this is part of our office. We had more art to go over the closet as well as an AT-AT from Hasbro to go on the curio cabinet. The rest of the room is still waiting for art from Waggoner, McQuarrie, Tommervik, some small shelves for Mighty Muggs, and a flat screen TV. Once that is all set up, I’ll post another picture. Also, we’ve been framing Star Wars Girls for the attached bathroom. =D
Ok… said link didn’t work, ill post another link. lol http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b394/boinkanemoboy/pano.jpg
Theresa, that wall looks stunning. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
That Tommervik is very different to the ones i have. Nice.
Thanks Rodney! I think we actually bought the very first MF piece he did. He’s done a ton since then and I the hub and I both agree that the third one you posted on this page is our favorite so far. I’m also digging the landspeeder with luke and obiwan piece that he has listed aright now. And I’m still kicking myself for not buying the scout trooper piece he had up awhile back. /Sigh. lol. I just love that his stuff is original and no one else will ever have the exact piece on their wall. We still have an r2-d2 piece to put up in the office. It’s a bit different then the other two piece as it has him repeated a ton.
We’re still filling up our curio cabinets. We have another one identical to the one seen in the picture on the opposite side of that wall. Monday we got a new Kotobukiya to go in them, the one of Darth and Luke fighting from the Ralph McQuarrie concept art. We actually have so much stuff to put in the cabinets we’re thinking about selling some of it. Our collection doesn’t have a specific direction like yours does but we’ve been leaning towards more expensive pieces being shown. So the cheaper stuff will either be stored or Ebayed.
These are great. I love these paintings. Where can i see more of these, are they in a museum or gallery?
Try ebay, deviantART or his website at http://tommervik.com/
There are two in the link that I posted! lol =D
