I found this rather intriguing piece on modelermagic.com. It would appear that the First Engineering Prototype from China of Master replica’s Studio Scale model of the Millennium Falcon is for sale. (Apparently this is the model that received the final sign off from Lucasfilm on the detail.)
I don’t know how much they’re looking for, but i’d be interested to find out. (I sent them an e/mail enquiring how much they’re looking for, so hopefully i’ll hear back soon.) I imagine that this is well out of my price range, but for those of you that have the coin, good luck to you. 🙂
Looking back on this, it reminds me of how awestruck i was when i first bought my Studio Scale. (Note to self, i must get an acrylic case so that i can display mine. 🙂 )
To be honest, i’m not too sure what i could do with this even if i could afford it. Would you display it or just keep it locked away knowing that you have the original? Would you even display them together?
25/08/11: I received an email today and they’re asking $4000 for it. Well out of my price range but not a bad price considering.
Very interesting. No doubt they want a mint for it, though. What is it next to in the first picture? The Finemolds falcon?
Yeah, i think it’s a Fine Molds Falcon. And yes, i’ll bet good money that this is going to be VERY expensive. 🙂
