My first piece of Millennium Falcon Art. A Scrap Metal sculpture. :)

£200 for that? You're braver than i thought.

Whilst browsing aimlessly at work last year, i came across a website called  “Scapyard Sculptures” who were selling various Science Fiction and Fantasy statues made from scrap metal. They had one of the Millennium Falcon and i just had to have it. (A snip at £195 and free P+P.) Personally, i think that it’s incredible that someone has turned some old car parts into this. Is is art? Yeah, i think so.

My wife loves it, “Someone’s taken something from their world and made it into something from your world”. You can’t argue with that.

I think that this may be my favourite item in my collection so far. OK, i have more detailed, larger and more expensive models of the Falcon, but this is unique. Unfortunately, Scrapyard Sculptures doesn’t trade any more. Shame, i had my eye on their Boba Fett statue too.

What a piece of junk!

She may not look like much....But she's got it where it counts.

About mffanrodders

A keen Star Wars collector since 1977, my collection focus seems to have taken on a turn towards Han Solo's iconic Star Ship. Why the Millennium Falcon? No one else seemed to have one at the time and it was fair to say that i had difficulty resisting the higher end models. My friend, icruise from Rebelscum has a superb blog for his Jabba the Hutt collection, I thought that i'd start this blog to chart my own collection of Millennium Falcon related collectibles as it increases.

I remember when you got this. Definitely a great piece, and I can see why it would be one of the centerpieces of your collection. Now that I have most of the mass-market Jabba stuff available, I’m finding that I like the one-of-a-kind stuff the best (handmade items, art pieces, etc.)

Are these metal sculptures for sale? You really got a great talent right here.
